IMPORTANT UPDATE
"Yoyoyo!!! I'm the creator of Mansion In The Woods, and I'm back with an important update about the state of the game! (Ignore the guy in the back lol)."
"Long story short, it's cancelled."
"It has been about three years since the creation of this game and I had realized many problems as I went on."
"One, I did not enjoy coding in Ren'py. It's a good engine, but it's not for me. I realized that my working in RpgMaker was about 1000x more fun and lent me the ability to include fun gameplay elements such as puzzles and other things."
"Two, I made a Twitter account WAAAAYY too early into the development. I don't know why I did that lol, this release version wasn't even a demo and it was called a test because I wanted to know how releasing something on Itch.io worked."
"Three, I prided myself in attempting to make EVERYTHING from scratch. I wanted the sprites, the music, and the backgrounds to be all done by me and it was a lot of work, especially since I didn't know how to draw backgrounds at all. (I'm grateful for the experience that came with this, though."
"Finally, I realized I didn't even like the characters that much (Except for A, yeah I choose favorites) . Their designs were pretty okay and personally, I think the artstyle held them up pretty high, but if they were drawn any way else I would 100% not like them. Sorry guys... I'm really glad some of you like them, though!!"
"As you can see, my artstyle changed a lot. I like to improve constantly and in these three years, I don't even make doodles like that anymore--"
"Hm? Why are you shaking so much?"
"I'm not going to kill you, you're my favorite! Where did you get that idea from!? The sword?"
"Ah, I see. This isn't mine, it belongs to someone and I'm holding it for them."
"They're from the new game, ya see? It's survival horror romance! It's gonna have super crazy love interests, I promise!"
"Compared to you, they're not as whimsical..."
"The new love interests... I'd say they're way more scary."
FINAL NOTE
"I will be keeping the test version of Mansion In The Woods for other people to play if they choose to. This might be the last thing I post about for this game in a while. (I mean I never rlly even gave that many updates so lol) Thanks for playing Mansion In The Woods!"

I really missed hearing from you LOL! Your characters and writing for "Mansion in the Woods" had me thinking of your series since it released, and I'm glad you even made it to begin with! It was a fun premise I enjoyed playing a lot. It was your unique art style that really caught my eyes, and the fun way that the line art was sharp.
I totally get what you mean by overestimating what is a LOT of work, especially in terms of doing a whole music track solo... And I agree (as someone who switched from Ren'py to RPG Maker MV around three months ago) that RPG Maker is WAY more freeing overall compared to the flat Visual Novel format.
Good luck on your future projects-- I'm looking forward to checking out whatever you make!
Aaaaa I'm super glad u liked the characters!! The artstyle is something I'm really proud of but loll I can't use it anymore because it doesn't portray the kind of feeling I want to give off in my art more recently. Thank you so much for playing my game, I'm rlly grateful you enjoyed it!!
